Forensic Psychiatry Service

Forensic psychiatry is a subspecialty of psychiatry in which scientific and clinical expertise is applied to legal issues in legal contexts embracing civil, criminal, correctional and/or legistlative matters. The Ilacone Group experts provides for comprehensive and ethical independent medical examinations.

Our clients include plaintiff and defense attorneys, state and federal prosecutors, judges, corporations, government and law enforcement agencies, school systems, and insurance companies. Examples of civil litigation include personal injury, malpractice, sexual harassment, discrimination, testamentary capacity and guardianship. Experts are also available for criminal issues including, competency to stand trial, insanity, and sentencing.

We also provide consulation to employers for fitness for duty evaluations, reasonable accomodations for the disabled, and worker's compensation.

Forensic Psychiatry Fees and Deposits

Ilacone Forensic Psychiatry Service views each case as uniquely important and ensures personalized attention for every client. Our Medical Director, Roger Joe, M.D., is available to discuss all prospective cases and determine the appropriate expert witness assignment for the evaluation or assessment services.

Initial Discussion with Dr. Joe, No Charge

Review of documents $350/hour

Preparation of reports $350/hour

Deposition testimony $400/hour*

Patient examination $400/hour

Trial Testimony (half day) $3000

Trial Testimony (full day) $5000

Neuropsychological testing, psychological testing and neuroimaging fees will depend on the recommended tests and evaluations.

Our services will be billed on a monthly basis and payable to Ilacone Group Inc.

*Travel time is billed at $350/hour.

Cancellation Policy

A charge of $500 will be billed for deposition or court appearances that are cancelled without at least a 24 hour notice.

Retainer

A retainer of $2000 is requested.

General Outpatient Psychiatry Service

The Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is specially designed to meet the emotional and psychological needs of adults (18 and older) with mental health concerns or issues.
